LWML – Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church
About LWML:

The LWML focuses on affirming each woman in her relationship with Christ to enable her to be in ministry among the people of the world. For over 65 years the organization has been encouraging and equipping women to live out their Christian lives in active mission ministries and to financially support global missions.

The LWML focuses on…

  – Richer Spiritual Living
  – Global Awareness for Ministry
  – Avenues for God-blessed Service
Who Can Join:
All women regardless of age are invited and encouraged to actively participate in any LWML meeting or scheduled event.

When / Where LWML Meets:
Our meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of each month from September thru May – sometimes at the church and other times at someone’s home if they’d like to host the meeting.  The main purpose of the meetings is to discuss and plan future mission projects.  In addition to generating ideas for upcoming service events, it is a great way to make new friends within our church family.  Watch the church announcements, calendar or newsletter for future meeting locations and upcoming service activities.

The Mite Box:
Based on the Biblical account of the widow’s mite (Luke 21:1-4), the mite box is intended for regular contributions of “mites” – offerings above and beyond the support given to congregation and the LCMS. Mite Box contributions amount to millions of dollars that fund district and national mission grants and implement the LWML program.  The chart to the right shows the current years’ Mission Grants that were chosen as recipients of the Mite Box donations.  By clicking on the chart, you can see how much of each grant’s goal has been reached.

The Mite Box at BSLC is located in the hallway across from the church office.   Please feel free to donate at any time.  We also take up a special offering on the 5th Sunday of the months that have 5 Sundays. (Watch for special announcements throughout the year for those Sundays.)

The Widow’s Mite

Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a fraction of a penny. Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth, but she, out of her poverty, put in everything — all she had to live on” (Mark 12:41-44).

The LWML Motto:
“Serve the Lord with gladness.”  Psalm 100:2
The LWML Pledge:
In fervent gratitude for the Savior’s dying love and His blood-bought gift of redemption we dedicate ourselves to Him with all that we are and have; and in obedience to His call for workers in the harvest fields, we pledge Him our willing service wherever and whenever He has need of us. We consecrate to our Savior our hands to work for Him, our feet to go on His errands, our voice to sing His praises, our lips to proclaim His redeeming love, our silver and our gold to extend His Kingdom, our will to do His will, and every power of our life to the great task of bringing the lost and the erring into eternal fellowship with Him. Amen.
