Palm Sunday Party:  (Mar 25 – sign up now)
When Jesus entered into Jerusalem on what is now called “Palm Sunday,” crowds welcomed him, celebrating his arrival as the long-awaited Messiah.  At Beautiful Savior, we will celebrate with a Palm Sunday Party Sunday, March 25 from 1-3 pm.  All children from preschool to fifth grade are invited to participate.  The event will include crafts, an Easter egg hunt, prizes and treats.  Cost is $3.  Please fill out a form located in the narthex and return it to the office.

Palm Sunday:  (Mar 25)

The Triumphal Entry

The next day the large crowd that had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem.  So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying out, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel! And Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, just as it is written,

“Fear not, daughter of Zion;
behold, your king is coming,
sitting on a donkey’s colt!”

His disciples did not understand these things at first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things had been written about him and had been done to him.   (John 12:12-16)

If you have additional questions, feel free to visit with Mary Seiffert who would be more than happy to give you more details.  You can also leave your name in the office and Mary can call you.  Thanks for stepping up!

Our next meeting will be Thursday, April 12 from 6:30-8 pm.  We’d love to have you join us!  Contact Jennifer Krause with any questions or to let us know you’ll be there.  You can e-mail or text 1-320-237-5438 to reach Jennifer.

Take time to look at the picture boards outside the church office.  The Confirmation pictures from previous years are posted there.  There is still one year missing so if you have a confirmation class picture for the year 2016, please bring it (or send a digital version) to the church office.  Or if you have a good copy of any of the years that are printed as a 5×7 (not 8×10), please bring it to the church office and we can scan it in and get an 8×10 made.  Thank you to everyone who bought in class photos of years that were missing!
Donate via Electronic Giving:
Did you know that Beautiful Savior offers an electronic option for giving your donations?  Just like paying your bills electronically, the Simply Giving program offers convenience for our members by allowing you to not have to write a check or remember your offering envelope on Sunday morning.  Electronic Giving also provides much-needed donation consistency for our church. Simply Giving is a secure direct debit giving program used to automatically transfer funds from your checking or savings account to the church’s bank account on a monthly or semi-monthly basis.
As you consider future contributions, please also consider signing up for electronic giving.  The authorization form can be printed from the “Resources / Forms” tab of this website or can be picked up in the church office.  If you have any questions, please feel free to visit with Vicki in the church office.

Hurricane Relief:  (How can I help?)
Your prayers and support for victims and for the rescue efforts of the recent  hurricanes are needed.   Prayer: “Holy Father, as the images of devastation continue to flood in, Your children turn to You in prayer. Remember all whose lives have been shaken, and hold them in Your everlasting arms. Remember all whose property has been lost, and remind them of the unfading inheritance Your Son has prepared for Your children in heaven. Remember all who work to bring rescue and support to those imperiled, and fill them with courage. Use all Your people as agents of Your divine love and witnesses to our everlasting hope. We ask it in the name of Jesus, our Lord. Amen.”

Maundy Thursday:  (Mar 29)

Maundy Thursday is the name given to the day on which Jesus celebrated the Passover with His disciples, known as the Last Supper.  Two important events are the focus of Maundy Thursday.

First, Jesus celebrated the Last Supper with His disciples and thereby instituted the Lord’s Supper, also called Communion (Luke 22:19-20).  Second, Jesus washed the disciples’ feet as an act of humility and service, thereby setting an example that we should love and serve one another in humility (John 13:3-17).

The word “Maundy” is derived from the Latin word for “command.” The “Maundy” in “Maundy Thursday” refers to the command Jesus gave to the disciples at the Last Supper, that they should love and serve one another.

We will have worship at 7:00 pm with a celebration of holy communion in memory of Jesus’ Last Supper with His disciples.
